Project CharterHouse Ventilation

Description

• Partner with the White County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity to design and implement a low cost, energy-efficient, home ventilation system.

Objectives

• Research, plan, design and implement an energy efficient and cost effective ventilation system for the woodruff II house, keeping future builds in mind.

Outcomes or Deliverables

• Completed, working, safe, method to ventilate the woodruff II house.
• Research to give suggestions for future White County builds.

Critical Dates

• Finish written report ~ November 2011

Began reading some literature about needs and types of home ventilations systems Learned from Rick Eichhorn about the basics of the previous habitat home ventilation systems, or lack there-of. Learned about radon, and its affects in Arkansas. Learned first-hand the importance of good ventilation while I was sick this week. I gained a better scope of this project Completed CPM chart for this project

Found several good reports on house ventilation online using the Habitat website. Researched the need to ventilate a house and methods of doing so.

Find out how past White County Habitat for Humanity homes are ventilated. Determine the level of ventilation needed in a Habitat home. Find out how much was spent on ventilation for the last habitat build. Determine rough budget for this ventilation system.
